The Institute for Informatics at University of Augsburg in Germany is seeking for several highly motivated and qualified doctoral students and PostDocs (full time) to join the Lab for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence. The starting date for the positions is flexible, but preferably during the autumn of 2022. The position will be for three years – with the possibility to extend it. Applicants should have a graduate degree (BSC, MA, MSC, Diplom, PhD) in Computer Science or a related discipline. Furthermore, they should have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: Interaction with VR/AR, VR/AR learning environments, virtual agents, multimodal behavior analysis and synthesis, or multimodal machine learning.

For candidates without doctoral degree, rapid achievement of such a degree is desired and will be definitely supported.

Our team has a long term experience in multimodal user interfaces, virtual agents and social robotics and is involved in many national and international collaborations. More information on our work can be found under: https://hcai.eu

The city of Augsburg is located in the south of Germany and offers many recreational and cultural attractions in its immediate environment (https://www.augsburg-tourismus.de/en/welcome).

The salary is according to the German 13 TV-L scale, which depends on age, qualification, etc. The TV calculator can help to determine exactly brutto salary, based on experience and family status. (see http://oeffentlicher-dienst.info/c/t/rechner/tv-l/west?id=tv-l-2022).

There are no tuition fees to be paid by doctoral students.
