| June 9, 2010 PostDoc position at the DAI-Labor of the Technische Universität Berlin At the Technische Universität Berlin, the DAI-Labor (www.dai-labor.de) and the chair “Agent Technologies in Business Applications and Telecommunications” under the leadership of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sahin Albayrak focuses on research and development with the goal of developing technologies for the next generation of services and distributed systems. These “Smart Services and Smart Systems” provide a number of novel features that allows them to act autonomously and intelligently. Research in the DAI-Labor is being conducted within six different Competence Centers (http://www.dai-labor.de/index.php?id=1697&L=1). With this theoretical grounding the DAI-Labor applies the technologies in different application areas for the development and evaluation of Smart Services. State-of-the-art testbeds allow validating and demonstrating these services in realistic scenarios. Close cooperation with industry partners ensures an approach that is both practical and solution oriented. All of this allows the DAI-Labor to develop technologies within a university environment that meets even the highest industry standards. The Competence Center “Next Generation Services” (http://www.dai-labor.de/index.php?id=1715&L=1) is conducting research in the area of smart (home) environments and future interactive systems. With a focus on model-based approaches, new tools and development methodologies are developed and evaluated. Main topics are multimodal and context-sensitive interaction with adaptive systems, user and context modeling and evaluation, user interface distribution, collaborative multi-user interaction, and semantic service interconnection as well as assistive technologies for ambient assisted living and health support. Ambient Assisted Living, energy management and mobile services are the core application domains in this area. The group works in close collaboration with the Deutsche Telekom Laboratories in Berlin and other companies with the goal to become one of the leading research groups in the area of Smart Environments and Ubiquitous Computing. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the competence center, including leading a team of students and PhD candidates, managing projects, writing project proposals as well as communicating with national and international partners.
