| September 2, 2010 9th International Conference Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia (MUM 2010) In-cooperation with ACM SIGMM GENERAL INFORMATION MUM 2010 is a renowned annual international conference, which provides a forum for presenting the latest research results on mobile and ubiquitous multimedia. The single-track conference is very competitive (acceptance rate of 25% in 2009) and brings together experts from both academia and industry for a fruitful exchange of ideas and discussion on future challenges. Accepted papers will be published in the MUM 2010 Conference Proceedings and ACM Digital Library. Accepted demos and posters will also be included in the proceedings. MUM2010 will be held in cooperation with ACM SIGMM and papers will appear in the ACM Digital Library. The 9th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia (MUM 2010) will be held in Limassol, Cyprus, December 1-3, 2010. It is organized by Cyprus University of Technology (http://www.cut.ac.cy/) and Frederick University (http://www.frederick.ac.cy/), Cyprus. In addition to the peer-reviewed accepted papers, the Conference Program will include keynote presentations and tutorials, posters, a research and industry demo session, and a discussion panel. The technical program will be complemented by several social events to facilitate informal discussions and networking among the conference attendees and invited guests. Best Paper Award and Best Student Paper Award will be presented for outstanding contributions. CONFERENCE TOPICS Original submissions are solicited on, but not limited to, the following topics on mobile and ubiquitous multimedia:
IMPORTANT DATES Full and short paper submission: September 15, 2010 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES FULL PAPER submissions should not exceed 10 pages in the ACM publishing format (www.acm.org/sigs/publications/proceedings-templates). Submissions should describe original and unpublished work. They should be made in electronic form, through the MUM 2010 EasyChair Conference System (http://www.easychair.org/) in pdf format. SHORT PAPERS are an opportunity to publish late breaking results, system implementations and practical approaches that would be beneficial to the community of researchers and practitioners and have not been published elsewhere. MUM Short papers are rigorously reviewed as shorter and focused submissions that enable the authors to disseminate technical insights. Short papers should not exceed 4 pages in the ACM format. TUTORIAL PROPOSALS: We invite proposals for a half-day tutorial related to the topics of the conference. Please send the proposal directly to the tutorial chair. Submissions should include a cover sheet and an extended abstract (max. 2 pages). The cover sheet should specify:

POSTERS provide authors with an opportunity to present their new work or work in progress to conference attendees during an interactive poster session. A poster submission should be in the form of a two-page paper in ACM abstract format (doc, pdf), describing the research problem, contribution, and value to MUM community. For the presentation at the conference, the authors should prepare an A1 size poster. A preview of the poster should be submitted with the final version of the poster abstract. Accepted poster abstracts will be published together with demonstration abstracts in the MUM Conference Proceedings, and distributed to conference attendees. Poster abstracts and previews should be submitted electronically to the Demo & Poster Chair. Through peer-reviewed DEMONSTRATIONS, the authors can show early implementations of novel and important concepts, applications, and services for mobile and ubiquitous multimedia. They can also showcase technology toolkits, research tools, and commercial products not previously described in the research or technical literature. We particularly encourage demos with which attendees can interact. A demo submission consists of an extended abstract in ACM abstract format (doc, pdf) that should be no longer than two pages. Accepted demonstration abstract will be published in the MUM Conference proceedings. The demo abstracts should be submitted electronically to the Demo & Poster Chair.
