| Call: SMC 2012 – 9th Sound and Music Computing Conference | |
| January 3, 2012 SMC 2012 http://smc2012.smcnetwork.org/ The SMC Conference is the forum for international exchanges around the core interdisciplinary topics of Sound and Music Computing. SMC 2012 is organized by the Medialogy section, Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, Aalborg University Copenhagen. The general theme for the SMC 2012 conference is “Illusions”. We welcome scientific contributions, demonstrations, installations and performances which are connected to the idea of sonic or multisensorial illusions. SMC 2012 will feature lectures, posters/demos, musical/sonic works, tutorials and other types of events. The SMC Summer School will take place just before the Conference with the theme “Multimodality”. The school will aim at giving an opportunity to young researchers interested in the field to learn about some of the core interdisciplinary topics and to share their own experiences with other young researchers. Attendance to Technical Sessions (oral and poster presentations), lunches, coffee breaks, and social events is restricted to registered participants. Attendance to the Music Program and to satellite events is free and open to the public. Previous SMC Conferences: Previous SMC Summer Schools: CALL FOR PAPERS AND DEMOS Please use this webpage to submit your contribution. Paper contributions SMC 2012 will include paper presentations as both lectures and poster/demos. We invite submissions examining all the core topics of the Sound and Music Computing field. All submissions will be peer-reviewed according to the following criteria: originality; significance of the contribution to the field; quality of research; quality of writing; contribution to the conference program. Review and Post-review. Paper submissions will be managed electronically through the EasyChair system, using a template that will be posted prior to the submission deadline. Please check all the information for authors and all the related important dates. After the notification of acceptance, authors will be requested to submit their camera-ready papers taking into account the reviews. Proceedings. All accepted papers, independently of the presentation format, will be included in the conference Proceedings. The Proceedings will have a ISBN and will be distributed as an electronic publication. Please note that at least one of the paper authors has to register to the conference in order for the paper to be accepted, presented, and included in the Proceedings.
