Want to… Teach games? Live in the NY Metro area? Teach at a top 40 games program?

I am looking for a Visiting Professor of Games to join me this upcoming year!

We are open to all different types of skills sets, but especially experience in teaching Unity, Game Art, level design, and/or digital tools (Photoshop, etc.). We are hoping to post a full-time (tenure-track or lecturer) position in the future. This is a *very* exciting opportunity to help build a brand new games and media program at an up-and-coming tech-savvy liberal arts college in the beautiful Hudson Valley. Job Description:

Marist College invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Games and Interactive Media to join the School of Communication and the Arts beginning in fall 2018. The visiting faculty member will be teaching courses in the Media Studies & Production major and Games & Emerging Media program (which is recognized as one of the top 40 game programs in the world by Princeton Review).

Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas: game design, game development, Unity/Unity development, game art, user experience design, 3D level design, virtual reality, augmented reality, modding, and/or human-computer interaction. Candidates will teach courses that align with their expertise, selected from a range of courses such as Introduction to Design, Digital Toolbox, Game Art, Game Design II/Unity, Level Design, and/or Human-Computer Interaction. Expectations for the visiting position include a teaching load of 24 credits for the year.

Qualified candidates for the visiting faculty position will hold at least a Master’s degree and/or have significant professional experience in game design, art, or development. Teaching experience and games industry experience is desired. A Ph.D. or other terminal degree in a relevant field is a plus.
